This workshop is designed for engineers and technicians from a wide range of abilities and backgrounds and will provide an excellent introduction to mastering plant documentation and diagrams.
The workshop will be useful to both specifiers and implementers and will provide a theoretical grounding as well as a practical guide for preparing a control system functional specification for implementation on Industrial control systems consisting of PLC, HMI or DCS.
The workshop is based on the international IEC60079 series of standards that are now replacing many of the older national standards. Installation utilising Explosion-Protected (Ex) equipment can be expensive to design, install and operate - outside of Europe

This workshop introduces managers, engineers and technicians to the latest standards and practices in the application of functional safety using effective management, planning and execution in accordance with IEC 61508/61511, the international standards for process industry safety instrumented systems.
This is not a “high-end” engineering workshop; rather it presents the nuts and bolts of the subject ranging from PLCs, DCSs, process control concepts, industrial data communications to SCADA and manufacturing execution systems.
