This workshop gives a solid overview on the essentials of designing, installing and commissioning the electrical distribution system for emergency power supplies ranging from UPS's to the more difficult area of diesel generators.

You will cover the issues of power reticulation design, power cable selection, switchgear selection and transformer,  paralleling of generators with the grid and your site.

At the end of the workshop you should be able to:

  • Design a simple electrical distribution system for an emergency power supply 
  • Select and size the correct switchgear, cables, transformers for the application 
  • Design the electrical system for paralleling of diesel generators to the local grid 
  • Implement successful maintenance strategies and procedures 
  • Project manage the installation
