IDC Reliability Calculator
This System Reliability Calculator is a utility that allows calculation of protection system reliability, PFD and supported SIL. The utility uses a spreadsheet format that makes operation perfectly straightforward and intuitive.
Simply enter the system component reliability data and the chosen architecture for each sub-system, together with the nominated test interval, and the utility will report the probability of failure for each sub-system as well as for the overall system and the SIL that would be supported. This then allows exploration of different scenarios and design possibilities using a simple 'what if' approach. Both Low and High Demand system calculations are supported. The utility allows nomination of different test intervals for individual sub-systems to support optimisation of test schedules.
A conversion utility allows conversion of failure rate data between different formats; fail/hr, fail/yr, MTBF(yrs), PFD.
A further feature supports simple ALARP calculations to determine whether additional investment in safety systems is appropriate.
Calculations are in accordance with IEC 61508-6:2000 Appendix B.

Licence allows operation on a single computer. Product is available for download on a ‘try before you buy’ basis. Upon receipt of order, a registration key will be issued that will allow unrestricted use. Simply place the registration key file in the same directory as the application.
